The NFHR Evaluation Program has evaluated 676 Fjords for conformation & movement since its first Evaluation in Libby, Montana on September 7, 1995 and through the evaluations in 2008. One hundred fifty six stallions have been evaluated with 50 receiving a score of 80 or above, 90 receiving 70 - 79, and 16 receiving below 70. Four hundred eleven mares have been evaluated with 128 receiving a score of 80 or above, 259 have received 70-79 and 24 have received below 70. The pictured 10 stallions and 20 mares achieved an 83 or above, and received an 8.5 or above for breed type. Breed type means those characteristics that differentiate a Fjord from other horse breeds. These Fjords include the lighter use type, the middle use type, and the heavier use type. The youngest was evaluated as a three year old and the oldest was 14 years of age. Their height varies from 13.2 hands (54 inches) to 14.3 hands (59 inches). Their cannon bones vary from 7.0 inches to 9.5 inches. The purpose of these posters is for Education.
