b"MessagePresident's LetterDear Members and Subscribers,As you might have heard, a changing of the guard has occurred.I would like to personally thank Eric Watness for all of his time spent serving on the NFHR BOD.Please allow me to introduce myself as the new president of the NFHR.My name is Sara Jongsma.I am a farmer's wife and mother of 4 amazing young humans.I first came into the registry in 2013 with the purchase of my first Fjord. She has been an amazing partner in crime for me as we roam the hills together gathering cows and checking fences.Currently, I own 4 Fjords and with any luck will be expecting a beautiful little fluff ball to come next spring.Breeding is no joke, and this little blessing has been a long time coming.I have served on a number of committees over the past 8 years and have been the Advertising Coordinator for the NFHR since the fall of 2019. I also happily create and maintain the stallion posters that can be found on the NFHR website.I came onto the Board of Directors last year to fill a vacancy and to help support this amazing organization. I want tothank those of you who have stood up and supported the NFHR with your personal donations.Words cannot express the gratitude that I feel for your support, as well as the entire NFHR team. There is no hiding that there have been some issues lately as well as some modernization. As a member of the Herald Committee, I want to thank those of you who have purchased a subscription to continue to receive a printed copy of the Fjord Herald, and I want to encourage those who need it to also subscribe.I am a hard copy book lover nothing better than walking into a library or bookstore, except perhaps, taking a book with you out on a ride through the woods and sitting down for a little snack under a tree with that good book.Anyways, thank you for your continued support of the NFHR.Sara Jongsma - NFHR PresidentThe Board of Directors would like to thank all who submitted their applications to fill the vacancy. We would like to welcome Jim Raabe to the Board for the remainder of 2023.08 Fjord Herald Issue #148Fall 2023"
