1DR FJORDS
Striving to help you experience the wonder (1dr) and intrigue of the Fjord breed. Our breeding operation started over 3 decades ago, making us the longest operating registered Fjord breeder in the country. We keep 4-6 stallions and a base broodmare herd of 20, with 3-5 more mares in evaluation. We have also been the past decade's most prolific NFHR breeder and should have around 20 foals produced each summer. We raise foals with optimal growth and joint development for long-term soundness, healthy metabolic function, ideal social skills, and low-stress skill-learning via the management of our broodmares with their foals and a stallion living 24/7 on hilly, phytochemically-diverse pastures. We breed to produce fairly tall drafty Fjords with a naturally calm, level-headed temperament, strong work ethic, easy trainability, and sound, correct, versatile, functional structure and movement within the Breed Standard. All accepted Fjord colors are possible from our herd. Quality foals are available annually. Matching your aspirations for your equine partner with a foal naturally possessing those traits is our priority. Come to our Fjord Open House July 12, 2025, 10-4 to meet all of our Fjords and their foals in person!
